Christian Marclay, not your average DJ
June 27, 2008 – 6:27 pmChristian Marclay is a visual artist and composer based in New York. Considering his high and extreme usage of turntables and vinyls, Christian Marclay could be considered the ultimate DJ, whatever this means.
According to Kjetil Falkenberg Hansen, “he is the most [turntable] influential figure outside hip-hop, but his background is not music, he was a sculptor and a performance artist.”
This video documents his imaginative production, from glued records to a 25 feet accordion, or even a Fender Stratocaster soundly suffering while being dragged along stony roads in Texas.
